The Southwestern Athletic Conference named Alabama State University’s Damon Stewart as the football Newcomer of the Week on Monday for the week ending Nov. 18, 2023.
Stewart had the best day of his Hornet career, completing 27-of-38 passes for 372 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. He has completed 117-of-183 passes for 1,465 yards with eight touchdowns.
The Hattiesburg, Miss., native ranks first in the SWAC in pass efficiency (141.6), and four in yards per completion (12.77).
Alabama State wraps up the season against Tuskegee in the 99th edition of the Turkey Day Classic on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
